Using Extensions in Scratch
Arun: Raj, let’s explore how to use extensions in Scratch.
Raj: Sounds good! How do we start?
Step 1: Open the Extensions Library
- Click the icon in the bottom-left corner of the Scratch screen.
Step 2: Choose an Extension
- Select an extension from the library. The blocks for the selected extension will appear in the block palette.

- Pen – Draw with a pen on the stage.
- Video Sensing – Detect motion using your webcam.
- Text to Speech – Convert text to spoken words.
- Translate – Translate text.

- micro– Interact with the BBC micro.
- LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 – Control LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 robots.
- LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 – Interact with LEGO WeDo 2.0.
- Go Direct Force & Acceleration – Use Vernier Go Direct sensors.
