Using Extensions in Scratch

Arun: Raj, let’s explore how to use extensions in Scratch.

Raj: Sounds good! How do we start?

Step 1: Open the Extensions Library

  • Click the icon in the bottom-left corner of the Scratch screen.

Step 2: Choose an Extension

  • Select an extension from the library. The blocks for the selected extension will appear in the block palette.

Arun: There are two types of extensions: hardware and web. Here are the available extensions:

  2. Pen – Draw with a pen on the stage.
  3. Video Sensing – Detect motion using your webcam.
  4. Text to Speech – Convert text to spoken words.
  5. Translate – Translate text.
  6. Makey Makey – Interact with the Makey Makey kit.
  7. micro– Interact with the BBC micro.
  8. LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 – Control LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 robots.
  9. LEGO Education WeDo 2.0 – Interact with LEGO WeDo 2.0.
