SEVEN SEGMENT DISPLAY ON BREADBOARD

Aim of the Experiment :

SEVEN SEGMENT DISPLAY ON BREADBOARD

Minimum Requirements :

  • 9V battery or power supply

  • Voltage Regulator (7805)

  • 220Ω resistor

  • Seven Segment Display

  • Connecting wires

Working Principle :

A seven segment display is one of the most common forms of digital displays available. The name 7 segment comes from the fact that the display has 7 separate LED segments. Some have 8 (if decimal point included). By connecting the common pins of the seven segment to the positive supply (for Common Anode SSD) or to negative (for Common Cathode SSD), numbers and some alphabets can be
displayed on the seven segment .To display the number “1” on the seven segment, LED’s corresponding to pins “b” and “c” have to be turned ON for the SSD and others have to switched OFF.
